Terms of Service
Effective August 1, 2026
These Terms are the agreement between you and Palace Duel LLC about playing Palace Duel. By creating an account or playing the game, you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use Palace Duel.
Worth knowing up front
- Items you unlock are a licence to use them inside the game. You do not own them, and they have no cash value.
- If we close your account for breaking these rules, those items are forfeited.
- Apple handles all payments and all refunds.
- If you are in the US, disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days. If you are in Canada, that does not apply to you.

01 Who these Terms are with
Palace Duel is operated by Palace Duel LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company at 549 Broadway, Unit 6, Bayonne, NJ 07002, United States ("Palace Duel", "we", "us"). "You" means the person using the game.
02 Who can play
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Palace Duel account. If the country where you live sets a higher minimum age for using an online service without a parent's consent, that higher age applies to you, and you may only play with the consent of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms with you, and that any purchase you make has their permission.
You may not use Palace Duel if you are barred from doing so under the laws of your country or of the United States.
03 Your account
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and for keeping your password private.
- One person, one account. Do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your account to anyone else.
- Give us an email address you actually control. It is how you recover access.
- Tell us promptly at support@palaceduel.com if you believe someone else is using your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from the game's settings.
04 Your licence to play
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Palace Duel on devices you own or control, for your own private entertainment. That is the whole of what you receive. We reserve every right not expressly granted here.
05 Virtual items: what you are actually getting
Palace Duel sells cosmetic items — card backs, avatars, and sounds in the Armory. Other items are earned by reaching a rank. In both cases, what you receive is a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use that item inside Palace Duel. You are not buying property, and you do not own the item itself.
In practical terms:
- Virtual items have no monetary value, are not currency, are not your property, and cannot be redeemed for cash or anything of real-world value.
- They exist only inside Palace Duel, and only for as long as we operate the game.
- They cannot be sold, gifted, traded, or transferred to another account or another person. Buying or selling accounts or items outside the game is prohibited, and we may close any account involved.
- We may change, replace, or retire items — including for balance, artwork licensing, or technical reasons.
- If we close or suspend your account because you broke these Terms, your licences end and your items are forfeited, without refund.
- If Palace Duel is permanently discontinued, all licences end. We will give reasonable advance notice where we can, but we are not obliged to compensate you for unused items.
None of the above limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law where you live. See section 16.
06 Payments and refunds
- All purchases are made through Apple's In-App Purchase system and are governed by Apple's terms as well as these.
- Prices are shown in the App Store before you confirm, and may vary by country and over time.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue, reverse, or guarantee a refund. Request one through Apple's support at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Purchases can be restored on a new device using Restore Purchases in the game.
- Items earned through play, such as rank card backs, depend on reaching a rank. Once earned they remain available to you even if your rank later falls.
- We may run promotions or change prices at any time. A later discount does not entitle you to a refund of the difference.
07 Fair play
Palace Duel is a competitive game, and the ladder only means something if the matches are honest. The following are prohibited:
- Cheating, or using bots, scripts, macros, or automation to play for you.
- Modifying the game, reverse engineering it, or accessing our servers by any means other than the official app.
- Deliberately exploiting a bug or defect instead of reporting it to us.
- Arranging matches to inflate rank, or intentionally losing to manipulate the ladder or rewards.
- Interfering with another player's match, or with the availability or security of our servers.
- Using another person's account, or letting another person use yours.
08 Usernames and how you treat other players
Your username is visible to other players, so it must not be obscene, hateful, harassing, deceptive, impersonating, or infringing on someone else's rights. We may reclaim or reset any username that breaks this rule.
When interacting with other players — including through friend requests and private rooms — you must not harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse anyone, post hateful content, or attempt to obtain personal information from another player. There is zero tolerance for content that sexualizes minors, and we will report such conduct to the appropriate authorities.
09 Reporting and blocking
If another player's username or behavior breaks these Terms, you can report them to us at support@palaceduel.com, and you can remove or block them from your friends list in the game. We review reports and act on them, which may include removing a username, restricting features, or closing an account. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content promptly.
10 Suspension and termination
You may stop playing and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, and where the breach is serious — such as cheating, harassment, or fraud — we may do so without advance notice. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a way to respond.
As set out in section 5, items associated with an account closed for breaking these Terms are forfeited.
11 Changes to the game and availability
Palace Duel is an online service that depends on our servers. We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including features, cosmetics, ranks, and the XP system. We do not promise the game will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may take it down for maintenance.
12 Our intellectual property
Palace Duel, its name, logo, artwork, card designs, avatars, sounds, and all other content are owned by Palace Duel LLC or our licensors, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. These Terms give you permission to play the game. They do not give you permission to copy, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content, except that you may capture and share gameplay footage and screenshots for non-commercial purposes.
13 Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Palace Duel is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, in which case this section applies to you only as far as the law allows.
14 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Palace Duel LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost virtual items. Our total liability for any claim relating to the game is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or twenty-five US dollars.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
15 Resolving disputes — United States players
This section applies only if you live in the United States. If you are in Canada, section 16 applies to you instead.
Talk to us first
Before starting a formal proceeding, email support@palaceduel.com describing the problem and the outcome you want. We will try to resolve it informally. Both of us agree to allow 60 days for this before starting arbitration.
Binding individual arbitration
If we cannot resolve it, you and Palace Duel LLC agree that any dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Arbitration may be conducted by video, by phone, or in writing, or in person in New Jersey if you prefer.
Class action waiver
Claims may be brought only on an individual basis. You and we each waive the right to bring or participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action. If this waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court and the rest of this section still applies to all other claims.
You can opt out
You may opt out of arbitration and the class action waiver by emailing support@palaceduel.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out", including your username and the email on your account, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Opting out costs nothing and will not affect your account in any way.
What is not covered
Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property.
16 Consumers in Canada
If you are a consumer resident in Canada:
- Section 15 does not apply to you. You are not required to arbitrate, and you do not waive any class or collective right you may have under the law of your province.
- You keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection law of your province, including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act, and nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
- You may bring proceedings in the courts of the province where you live.
- If any provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory consumer protection rule that applies to you, that rule wins and the rest of these Terms continue to apply.
Les parties ont exigé que ce document soit rédigé en anglais. The parties have requested that this document be drawn up in English.
17 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in Canada, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the province where you live.
18 Apple App Store terms
The following applies because you obtained Palace Duel from Apple's App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Palace Duel LLC only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Palace Duel or its content.
- Your licence to use Palace Duel is limited to a non-transferable licence to use it on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Palace Duel. Support requests go to support@palaceduel.com.
- If Palace Duel fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever.
- Palace Duel LLC, not Apple, is responsible for any claims relating to the game, including product liability, any failure to conform to legal requirements, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- Palace Duel LLC, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving any third-party claim that Palace Duel infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce them against you.
19 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and ask you to accept the new version in the game. If you do not accept, you may stop playing and delete your account. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
